Monet, Van Gogh and the masters of modernism

Masterpieces from the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Roma




This exhibition brings together 36 world-class art masters and features 48 authentic artworks from the period between 1865 and 1972. It includes Claude Monet's iconic Water Lilies series, Amedeo Modigliani's renowned female nudes, as well as representative works from mature periods of artists like Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, and Pablo Picasso. Additionally, classic works from Italian artists such as Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni, Giorgio de Chirico, and Giotto Fian-tini are also included.

The exhibition is structured around five major themes, aiming to reveal the connections between various art movements and famous artists, spanning from Impressionism to Symbolism, Post-Impressionism to Expressionism, Cubism to Futurism, and Dadaism to Surrealism.

Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Italy was established in 1883 and is located in a historic city, Rome. It’s no doubt one of the most extensive art museums in Italy, dedicated to collecting modern art work. The museum houses approximately 20,000 artworks, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and installations, featuring the works of Italian artists from the 19th to the 20th century. It also boasts art pieces from renowned artists such as Monet, Van Gogh, Cézanne, and Mondrian, among others.
